Seeking Community Consultants for Community-Arts Project
Centre for Artistic and Social Practice and a team of artists and researchers from McMaster University, University of Guelph, Cinematronics and VibrafusionLab, are seeking community consultants to help lead a community-based research project called Direct[Message]: Digital Access to Artistic Engagement. Our team is developing a digital tool/platform that can improve older adults’ access to and involvement with the arts in Hamilton, Guelph and London.
If you’re between 60 – 75 years of age and are interested in helping us learn more about what older adults need to be involved with the arts, we need you! We encourage artists/community members who are disabled, Black, Indigenous, LGBTQ2SIA, Newcomers, Refugees to apply. Each consultation will earn a $100 honorarium each meeting, lasting no more than an hour. If you need any support to participate in the meeting, such as ASL interpretation, we will have that ready for you.
Community Consultants will work in a group and support the project by:
· Collaborating on the design and purpose of the online video platform
· Collaborating on the research process
· Helping recruit research participants
No experience needed! Consultants will be invited to share their opinions, experiment with arts-based activities and learn about community-based research. We want to develop a digital tool for artistic engagement that truly meets the community’s needs.
If you have any questions or would like to get involved, please write firstname.lastname@example.org.
