Finally, the 7th Habit from Stephen R Covey’s highly acclaimed, “7 Habits of Highly Effective People.”
This is my favourite: Sharpen the Saw.
The logic is SO obvious – you can be the strongest person on the planet, but if you try to chop down the tree with a blunt instrument – be it axe or saw – you are going to toil far harder than you need to.

Like Putting First Things First – Sharpening the Saw is what Covey calls, a Quadrant Two activity – it’s Important but not Urgent.
Is that true?
Many would argue that giving attention to your physical health is essential – Urgent and Important.
I understand that many people neglect their Psychological ‘Sharpness’ – and yet we laud those who are sharp-witted, and avoid those who are dull!
All the ancient traditions give far more weight and attention to spiritual development.
As Covey asserts, this is about building Character rather than a sparkling Personality!
Thus, today, is a call to action – to get Sharpening in the Diary!
It’s also an exciting doorway into the next part of our Vlogs where we turn our attention to Accelerated Learning.
If learning is an axe, Accelerated Learning is a Buzz-saw!!!
