The UK government has announced that some Hollywood actors and film crews will be exempt from quarantine rules.This means that cast and crew members will not have to quarantine for 14 days after entering the country.UK culture secretary, Oliver Dowden, announced the decision after a meeting with Tom Cruise.They met over video conference to discuss restarting production on the latest ‘Mission: Impossible’ movie.The movie, which closed down production in February, is set to restart filming at Warner Bros. Studios near London.”Exempting small numbers of essential cast and crew from quarantine is part of our continued commitment to getting cameras rolling safely again,” Oliver Dowden, UK Culture Secretary.Those who are exempted will still have to live and work in a ‘bubble’ environment for two weeks.They will also have to follow the British Film Commission’s guidance on managing the risk of COVID-19.The British Film Institute reports that film and TV is worth over $12 billion to the UK economy, and employs 77,000 workers
